UCP SALERNO
It was established in 2011 and is an integral part of the Complex Operational Unit of General and Emergency Surgery of the Mercato San Severino hospital, part of the University of Salerno San Giovanni di Dio and Ruggi D'Aragona.
The coordinator of the UCP, Dr. Alfredo Giordano, specialist in General Surgery, II level Master in Colonproctology, ACOI Diploma in Proctology and Advanced Laparoscopy, highly specialized corporate position in Colonproctology, has been a member of Siucp since 2004.
Currently the general and emergency surgery unit of the San Severino Mercato Complex is part of the GOM (multidisciplinary oncology group) for colorectal neoplasms and provides approximately 120 operations per year for these pathologies, over 70% of which are carried out via laparoscopy or in Robotics.
UCP Salerno is a reference center for the diagnosis and treatment of proctological and pelvic floor pathologies such as haemorrhoidal disease, rectal prolapse, obstructed defecation syndrome, anal fistula and fissure, cyst and sacral fistula.
UCP Salerno collaborates, for diagnostics, with the Endoscopy and Radiology Services (on site) and with some affiliated centers for the provision of dynamic x-ray and MRI defecography.
